Injection molded cases are among the most durable options for your casing needs. The first step is to design the mold for the actual case. Materials are then heated and mixed in a high heat barrel and forced into the specially designed mold where they cool and harden to form highly resilient plastic.

These cases have become quite common because they are extremely durable, rust resistant or completely rust proof, waterproof, pressure resistant and overall extremely versatile. Creating the custom mold is the most involved portion of the process. You can create relatively simple molds, or elaborate designs and complex features.

Many popular brands of cases are made using the injection mold process because of its durability. There are a few different ways to make plastic cases; processes such as blow molding are also quite common.

Casing used for packaging or shipping purposes is normally not expected to be as durable and reliable. These products are often made of plastic and serve the purpose of protection during light handling. Many packaging products are made from a combination of plastic and cardboard; the cardboard is normally able to keep its form while the clear plastic serves display purposes.
